How safe are you?
How safe are you? Memorial Day weekend I was promoting our first release, Daisy Dukes ‘n Cowboy Boots, at the Crawfish Festival in Fredericksburg, Texas. My 10×10 tent space was sandwiched between two awesome vendors, and it is the product of one of them I would like to discuss today.
I had never heard of Damsel in Defense before this event, and I was amazed at how many products they had to offer. Stun guns, concealed carry purses, pepper spray, and more. Their company is geared towards keeping women safe and in charge, but they offer more products that benefit men and children. Their series of children’s books help teach kids about sneaky people, who try to trick them into things that are not safe. Damsel in Defense reps say they try to tell the difference between secrets and surprises to keep children aware of unhealthy adult interactions. The days of Stranger Danger have evolved. Damsel in Defense realizes that most child abuse occurs between children and adults they know. Kevin, Lilly and Yvette worked diligently to advise women of how to protect themselves and encouraged them to be aware. They described their children’s books and games in detail, and I was sold on the importance of the book’s message right away. For men, they offered credit card safe wallets, hotel door stops, and key chain alarms.
They really believe in their product, but I knew they stood behind their concept when Kevin said, “If they don’t buy our product, it’s okay, just buy something to protect yourself.”
I whole heartedly agree. I heard women say they lived in a safe neighborhood, that they didn’t need protection, their husbands would protect them, and more. Let me share with you, I have been attacked multiple times in my life, and I am thankful that nothing severe has ever come of it. I personally know it can happen on a crowded street, in front of the grocery store door, in a cab, broken down on the side of the road, and the list goes on. Since I carry protection, I haven’t had a reason to use it, and I am very thankful. I don’t want to hurt anyone.
I second the appeal of the Damsel in Defense rep’s thoughts. This company makes great products, and I have bought several, but if you don’t buy theirs, buy something. Don’t be a victim.
These wonderful people offer group classes, and do speaking events. Please contact them or visit their website.

The Dixie Apocalypse, by Richard Fossey
In Richard Fossey’s, The Dixie Apocalypse, it’s not one disaster that strikes, leaving humanity in peril, but a lagnappe of misfortune that leaves the United States in ruins. In the new times, Willoughby Burns, a former lawyer and professor...
