Tolerance Statues

There are a lot of things to love about Texas, but it is especially wonderful for its Parks and Recreation development. As I was driving a different route through the city today, I got a wonderful view of two sculptures at a park entrance. I had never seen them before today, since I had never happened down Allen Street. Besides the many state parks, every Texas neighborhood seems to be within walking distance to a park or pool that the community can enjoy. It is one of the first things I noticed when I moved to Texas in 2003. There are seven of these Tolerance Statues throughout the park, representing the seven continents. The boulders they rest upon were brought over from Spain and they are illuminated at night.

It was a grand sunny day and lots of walkers, bikers, and families were out enjoying leisure. With the Houston Grand Opera, Houston Ballet, the amazing Art and Museum district, fabulous food and entertainment, I think Houston offers an arousing lifestyle to its inhabitants. The city still surprises me with all it has to offer and I am happy to reside here.
